The Fête de la Musique,
also known or World Music Day is an annual music celebration that takes place
on June 21,
the first day of summer in cities around the world. It originated from France
in 1982.
In Akwa Ibom State, this year’s celebration with the theme
'industrializing the Akwa Ibom Music Industry' will hold at G-park Resort,
162 Ikot Ekpene roads, Uyo. There will be a carnival float around the
major streets of Uyo on Saturday June 20, 2015 while the main event with
keynotes, awards and mega performances by renowned artistes will be on Sunday June 21st
by 3pm.
The event is being organized by award winning music program, Muzik Alive AKBC
TV in partnership with PMAN, AKS. The event which is free for all is expected
to be the largest conglomeration of musicians, song writers, producers, video
directors, and bloggers, on air personalities, Deejays, Record Label execs/Mgt,
dancers and all lovers of music.
