Nollywood stars turn out as Africa Magic celebrates AMVCA nominees

As part of preparations for the 3rd edition of its prestigious Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCAs), Africa Magic treated nominees for the 2015 edition to a celebratory brunch at the Ball Room of the Intercontinental Hotel, Lagos recently. 

The event, which held in association with MultiChoice and lead sponsors Amstel Malta, also saw the unveiling of a special AMVCA edition of one of Nigeria’s leading fashion and style magazine, Mania. Hosted by popular OAP and presenter of ‘53 Extra’, Ozzy Agu, it was indeed an afternoon of celebration, glitz and glamour with several A-list stars in attendance including OC Ukeje, Iretiola Doyle, Segun Arinze, Kunle Afolayan, Toyin Aimakhu, Joke Silva, Linda Ejiofor and many others. In his opening remarks, the Managing Director, MultiChoice Nigeria, John Ugbe, said ‘The 3rd edition of the AMVCAs is just around the corner. As we celebrate the nominees today, we also acknowledge the impact that the awards have had on African film and television production. MultiChoice continues to celebrate African talent and the continued success of the AMVCAs further showcases our commitment to recognizing the amazing skills that exist in the ever-growing African entertainment industry.’ Also speaking during the event were the Regional Director, M-Net (West) Wangi Mba-Uzoukwu, and the publisher of Mania Magazine, Kelechi Amadi-Obi. The 2015 edition of the AMVCAs is scheduled to hold on March 7, 2015 at the Eko Hotel & Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos. Public voting closes at midnight on February 28, 2015 and the awards will air live on all Africa Magic channels at 5.00pm Nigerian time. Other sponsors for the event include MTN, Verve, Payporte and Unilever.
