Today marks birthda of a legendary Nigerian rap pioneer Weird MC (Adesola Idowu). She turns 45 years old today.
Weird MC who was born in England started her career in secondary school when she formed the all girls group Weirdos.
The group later spilt and Weird MC went solo. After studying Music
Technology after abandoning Law, she dropped the game changing single
'Allen Avenue' in 1996. The following year she released her debut album Simply Weird which got her the Best Hip Hop album at the AMEN awards.
Weird MC's second album was released in 2006 and was titled After The Storm. The album featured the smash hit 'Ijoya' produced by Don Jazzy and JJC. The album earned her the Best Pop Album at the 2007 Headies.
In January 2015, Weird MC announced she is working with hit producer D'Tunes.
